Melbourne Bar Band Playing Alt-Country Music For Road Trips and Reverie
Brand New music out Now
bust Him up
“Vinyl chairs, dirty taps, schooners, red brick arches, a neon sign, and a payphone in the corner.”
“Runners and the Young take a modern production to a classic Australian sound, with dashes of experienced US alt-country, and classic British post-punk for good measure."
“It reflects the country that we live in, panoramic, open, lush and diamond-hard in equal parts. Great songs underpinned by superb production and beautifully put together arrangements. Top notch.”

Brand new triple A-side single out now!, Bust Him Up was recorded and produced by Rohan Sforcina at Head Gap Recording Studios in Preston across the back end of 2023 and early 2024. CD’s will be available at live shows with 3 extra bonus tracks! Enjoy
Patrick Keyzer - Lead Guitar and Vocals
Patrick hails from Sydney, via Pasadena, Wellington NZ, Sydney, LA, Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne. He played with the Guard, the End, Dead Rats, The Shits, Telescopic Frogs before forming Jet Powers and the Byronic Tragic-Heroes, to win the Sydney Uni band comp in 1987. Having spent the prize money on a reconditioned motor for his car and promising the band they would be on his payroll any day, he rebadged the band as the Snapdragons and took on the Sando, the Annandale, the Landsdowne, the Hopetoun, the Evil Star amongst others.
Jim Hunter - Guitar and Vocals
Growing up in country NSW then spending a few years in the army, Jim was not in any cool bands. But a chance meeting with Patrick at the wrong Darlinghurst rehearsal room lead to an invite to join Jet Powers on drums. After too many good years in the Emerald City he moved to Melbourne and joined Tim Thornton’s, Blender, and then alt country outfit, the Sticky Valentines, before teaming up with Patrick, Suzie and Dave with a suitcase full of jangle and twang.
Suzie O’Toole - Bass
Susie is a Gold Coast native and still lives there in her mind. She graduated from local cover bands before moving south to play in hard rock outfit, Bitch. She also plays and records with Redglo who supported the Sunnyboys on their comeback tour.
Dave Gordon - Drums
Dave is a Sydney rock dog who has been hitting the skins hard for bands in both Sydney and Melbourne. Dave has played with the Telescopic Frogs, IOU, Apartment A, Da Neuvo, One Night Only, 88MPH, Bizarre Gardening Accident, Dead Legends, and is now also playing with the Dallas Terrors.
Which explains his winning effort on RocKwiz.
